MESSAGE FROM THE MCF

Paul Crockett

Dear West Kent Freemasons
15 April 2020

Your Province is currently supporting the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) through its Festival Appeal and this support, through the generous donations of the members in your Province is vital if the MCF is to continue to provide the necessary grants, donations and resources to the countless members of our masonic family, charities both local and national and medical research projects that we care about.

We are now faced with an even bigger call on our services. In addition to support that the MCF is already providing to members of the masonic community through these difficult times, the MCF have already committed an additional £2,250,000 to provide funding to help combat the effects of Covid-19. This funding will provide additional support to masonic and non-masonic projects, organisations and charities that are on the front line of this emergency.

This is funding over and above the support that the MCF already provides through its existing charity grants and masonic support programs, and that is why during these extraordinary times extraordinary efforts are required from everyone.
The MCF are therefore keen for the members in your Province to continue supporting your Festival Appeal as they have been doing to such great effect. However, we are also asking your members to consider making that little extra donation so that Freemasonry can do a lot more to help those most in need. By supporting the UGLE appeal to raise funds through a special Covid-19 Relief Chest and to acknowledge that your members have made that additional donation, the MCF will match, pound for pound, those donations made (up to £1million).

Both UGLE and the MCF appreciate any additional donations that your members make, and as a further way of acknowledging that they are increasing their support, the MCF will ensure that these additional donations will be recorded against your Festival Provincial total and their own Lodge and individual totals.

We want every Freemason to take part in this appeal and we want to ensure that we can provide funding at the very heart of this national fight against Covid-19. We also want to thank and acknowledge every member of your Province for continuing with the regular giving to your Festival Appeal and especially for the extra donations that they will make towards this emergency appeal.
You will have seen the details of how to support the Covid-19 appeal but I have listed below those details again.

In the meantime, keep well and stay safe.

Kind regards
Paul Crockett MInstF(Cert)
